A SAMPLING OF CUSTOM COURSES RELATED TO THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 MUSEUM CLOSURES

Sustaining & Restoring Trust Post COVID-19 Museum Closures

A global pandemic, museum shutdowns, and displaced team members, can make for an unprecedented year of challenges in museums. Whether you are working remotely or in the museum, now is a great time to review and consider the very foundation of effective leadership: Trust. So much change and disruption can feel like a great loss. However, all is not lost. You and your museum still have many sources of trust and opportunities for maintaining or restoring trust after COVID-19 museum closures. In this session you will discover sources of trust that you are either currently implementing or underutilizing. Museum leaders will review common issues that undermine trust and discuss ways to overcome them. After self-reflection, simple assessment, and an exchange of ideas, leaders will set goals to sustain or restore trust among and between their staff, community, and stakeholders.

IS COVID-19 BURNING YOU OUT? Sustaining Your Motivation Post COVID-19 Museum Closures

Let’s face it, 2020 has brought many unexpected challenges and changes to museums around the world. Yet, as leaders we must press onward. During these hard times we may find ourselves wondering how we can motivate others in the museum. However, we must consider our own motivation level, and how it could be affecting those around us. In this interactive training session, leaders will identify common barriers to their motivation and discover factors that cause people to believe that they are motivated – or not. After discovering self-motivation strategies, followed by self-reflection and discussion, leaders will determine what they communicate about their own motivation level through their words and actions.

IS COVID-19 BURNING OUT YOUR TEAM? Motivating Others in the “New Normal”

Motivating others can be challenging. Motivating others is at the heart of leadership, and museum leaders are fighting against de-motivating factors related to the impact of COVID-19. In this session, leaders will explore principles of motivation and identify ways to motivate their teams in what has been dubbed our “new normal.” Leaders will discover how both people and systems impact motivation throughout the museum. After self-reflection, discussion, and an exchange of ideas, leaders will set goals for increasing motivation throughout the museum.
